Parfums De Marly Pegasus Review
The fall season has arrived and I have the perfect cologne just for you. Parfums De Marly Pegasus is a beautiful niche cologne that puts together a string of notes that turns heads. Its scent just screams masculine and mature compared to colognes with a similar scent profile as this. Jean Paul Gaultier’s Le Male is similar, but comes off a childish compared to this.
If you are looking for a sweet, yet mature cologne…let me introduce you to Pegasus.
The Parfums De Marly Brand
Parfums De Marly is a niche fragrance brand that puts out refined and contemporary fragrances that leave a trace of elegant 18th century France. The century known for it’s “reign of perfume” which created a large impact on the fragrances of today.
The founder of Parfums De Marly, Julian Sprecher developed his love for fragrances from his father, who told him stories of the famous palace and gardens of Versailles, near to where he was born and raised. These locations played a large role in creating the fragrance industry that we know of today.
Under the reign of Louis XV, each fragrance created was a new height in ingenuity. In the king’s secret and private apartments of the Château of Versailles, bouquets combined fragrances of flowers or fruit essences. The creation of perfumes was very important and courtiers even had their own “perfume cellars” in their homes, allowing them to compose highly elaborate perfume blends whenever they wanted.
Now… lets get to the specifics of this amazing cologne that smells of royal elegance.
Parfums De Marly Pegasus
Parfums De Marly’s Pegasus was released in 2011 and has been a hidden gem when it comes to fall and winter colognes. It opens up with a fresh sweet almond smell that just makes you feel warm and cozy. A vanilla scent slowly builds up in the fragrance, combining with the almond to create a rich and alluring fragrance.
After the base of almond and vanilla is established the cologne is joined by lavender and sandalwood to give it more depth. The fragrance will open up more feminine than you might expect. But, don’t be worried— its dry down transforms into a masculine cologne that will have women complementing you constantly.
A review of this cologne said ” This house (Parfums De Marly) offers wonderful fragrances. The fragrance of Pegasus is the forefront of these, especially with the distinction of the almond notes and their appearance professionally in this fragrance. I recommend this to lovers of unique yet moderate fragrances.”
I couldn’t have summed up this cologne any better.
The Scent Notes
If you are familiar with Parfums De Marly, you know that the performance of their fragrances are always outstanding. Powerful silage, long lasting fragrance that smells incredible, and just enough of each to have people around you complementing you. I would recommend this cologne when the weather is cold and you need something with a little kick to project out to the people around you.
I have heard stories of this fragrance lasting over 24 hours straight on peoples skin with no problems at all. You need to control the amount of sprays you use because it can become too much, very quickly. Anything more than 2 sprays is starting to reach some dangerous ground and you will need to be outdoors to pull it off.
You can wear this cologne in both day and night being totally acceptable in both. This cologne lasts over 24 hours so you really don’t have a choice…
